Leaf Williams

My name is Leaf Williams and I was a TEFL student in Buenos Aires in January and February of 2018. I felt that the TEFL class materials were extremely helpful in learning how to create lesson plans and manage classrooms. As I previously had almost no experience in teaching (aside from some tutoring many years ago) the ideas and structures that the Buenos Aires TEFL course offered were essential to me when I began teaching. I really didn't remember much about English grammar so the review/re-learning experience was also vital for me... Read more

In addition, Florencia, the Director, was instrumental in my obtaining a teaching job. She helped the TEFL students revise our resumes to fit the Argentinian style, wrote letters of recommendation, and gave interview tips. I had several interviews before the TEFL course was even over, and I had an English Teaching job the week after the course ended. I have been teaching here in Buenos Aires since February. I have also been contacted by several more companies that provide English classes since February, to each of whom I had been referred by Florencia. What's more, one of the interviewers commented that she preferred hiring TEFL students because they "are so much more prepared to teach English than students that complete other courses." In sum, I think that TEFL absolutely helped me to obtain a job teaching English, and then to teach my classes with a lot more skill than I would have if I had not taken the course.
